Rainbow Cake

Ingredients ( for one cake )

  1. 1/2 cup butter

  2. 3/4 cup sugar

  3. 3 eggs/curd- 1/2 cup

  4. vanilla extract- 1 tsp

  5. flour- 1 1/2 cup

  6. baking powder- 2 tsp

  7. baking soda- 1 tsp

  8. butter milk- 1/2 cup ( there's a recipe of buttermilk in the procedure incase you don't have it ).

  9. rainbow food colouring ( purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, red )







Procedure


Buttermilk recipe- take 1/2 cup of milk and mix in half of a lemon into it. To that, add 1 tsp of vinegar and mix until combined. Put into fridge until needed.


In a large bowl, mix the butter and sugar for 5 min or until light and fluffy. To that, add eggs/curd and mix until combined. Once mixed, add in the vanilla extract and again mix until combined.


Next, in another bowl, sift in the flour, baking powder and baking soda.


Add 1/3 of the dry mixture into the butter mixture and mix just until combined. Then add 1/2 the buttermilk and mix until combined. Keep doing this until there's nothing remaining.


Separate the batter into 6 bowls, purple having the most batter, to red having the least batter. Add your food colouring to the batters. Pour the colour with the most batter on a greased pan. Then put the second most batter right on top and so on.


Put this into an oven which has been preheated for 10 min and bake for 35 min at 180 degree celsius. Let it cool for 20 minutes when it comes out. Then slice and enjoy the Rainbow Cake!
